Big Bend Videos - 2008

Sites include visits to : Just about everything there is to see around and in the Texas Big Bend areas .

 Star Date : 8/31/2008 – Sunday

First, I apologize for not putting out any new stories in a long time.  But...  I have been quit busy with the show schedule and of coarse school.  Speaking of school.....

     Ok, here's the story....

I just got a new toy, a Dell laptop computer for school.  It came with the new with Vista Ultimate operating system.  The operating system came with Microsoft Movie Maker and so I decided to try it out on some of my photos I collected from the Big Bend area of Texas.

Bear in mind that I did this in less than a week during some spar time.  Thus, I know I can't spell "noth", I mean "north" among some other words and I also know a few of the photos are out of chronological order.  Give me some time and I'll fix those mistakes. Lastly, I did have to steal a few photos off the net to fill in the holes I had.

Click on the photos to begin each video.  When each video is over with, exit out of your media player and come back to this page to continue with the next video.

Please allow sufficient time to load, after all, they are videos.  Hope you enjoy them....

We begin our trip to Big Bend with stops in Iraan, TX, Fort Stockton, Balmorhea and the state park there, the Prude Ranch and the city of Fort Davis.

In this segment, we explore Fort Davis Mountains State Park, Indian Lodge, the McDonald Observatory, and the Scenic Loop.

Here, we explore the sites of Alpine, TX, the Woodward Ranch, some of the mountain scenes south of Alpine, Terlingua Ranch and Study Butte.

Finally, we enter the park to see such sights as Tuff Canyon, Castoleon, Santa Elena Canyon, the Grapevine Hills Trail, the Chisos Mountain Basin and Lodge, the Windows Trail, Emory Peak, Panther Junction, Hot Springs, Boquillas Canyon, Rio Grande Village, the Old River Road and the Old Ore Road.  (I probably left a few places out.)

Lots to see on this road including : the Terlingua Ghost Town, Lajitas, Contrabando movie set, Big Bend Ranch, Closed Canyon, Fort Leaton, Presidio, Ruidoso and Chinati Springs.  (I probably left a few places out again.)

The sites in this segment include the ghost town of Shafter, TX, the movie set of "Giant", Marfa, TX, the Luz de Estrella winery and the Marfa Lights.

This last segment takes you out of the Big Bend area via east on Hwy 90.  We will stop and visit the following sites : Marathon, TX, Sanderson, TX, Judge Roy Bean's place in Langtry, TX, the Devil's Canyon across the Pecos river, Seminole Canyon State Park and Del Rio, TX.

So until next time, take care and I'll  See you, on the road!!!
